Our Mission

At digital yarn, our mission is to partner with organisations that are making a difference in their space to promote and amplify their impact.

We believe in a candid, personal approach, working closely with our clients to weave their stories into the digital world authentically and effectively.

Pro-Bono Projects

digital yarn is passionate about supporting small businesses and altruistic causes, and we strive to help achieve a more equitable future for all.

When our capacity as a small digital agency allows, we aim to take on several pro bono projects each year that align with our values.

If you’d like to have a chat about this possibility, please contact charlie@digitalyarn.co.

Calamity Tash

Calamity Tash is an artist who embraces chaos, bright colours, dolls with big personalities, and a complete disregard for the idea that things need to "match." But beyond all that, she’s built something bigger; a community. Through her Stitch and Bitch craft club, she’s created a space where people can come together, make things, and have a laugh.

Tash’s energy and mission were an instant fit for digital yarn. She needed a way to share her story in a way that not only captured her work, but her impact as well.

We put together a 90-second promo video that showcases Tash’s creative process, her studio space, and, most importantly, the people who come together because of her. This included;

  • Studio Footage – Tash in her element, creating chaos.

  • Candid Interview – A relaxed chat about what drives her, why art matters, and how she builds community.

  • Craft Club in Action – Filming at Adelaide Uni, where people are chatting, making things, and enjoying being together.

We kept the edit punchy and full of life, mixing in close-ups of hands at work, laughter, and all of the small, joyful moments that make her sessions special.

Deadset Theatre Company · Truckstop

Truck Stop is an unflinching, raw look at teenage boredom, risk, and survival. The show follows three high school girls killing time at a truck stop—until a dare changes everything. Grungy, intense, and unsettling, the production was nominated for Best Drama at the Theatre Association of South Australia Awards in 2020/2021.

Deadset Theatre Company needed a high-energy trailer to promote the show captured its gritty, uneasy tone without feeling like a standard theatre promo.

We delivered a fast-cut, high-intensity teaser trailer with the aim to build excitement before opening night. This included;

  • Grungy, Rapid Cuts – Every dialogue scene was filmed multiple times so we could splice the shots together in a way that felt sporadic and uneasy.

  • Layered Voiceovers – Dialogue and internal monologues weave through the edit, adding tension and urgency.

  • One-Day Shoot – A fast and dirty production, plus additional voiceover recordings to give us maximum flexibility in the edit.

Bri Hammond · Object Permanence

Bri Hammond’s 2025 Adelaide Fringe exhibition, Object Permanence, explores parenting, childhood, and the connections between them through still-life photography of small objects. Using brightly coloured graphic compositions, her work feels playful at first glance, but a closer look reveals signs of wear—fingerprints on a balloon, tangled hair on a tiny brush—hinting at deeper emotions.

Inspired by a theory from psychotherapist Philippa Perry, Bri’s exhibition became a way to reflect on her own childhood while raising her son.

For digital yarn, this project was all about keeping it simple and unpretentious to match Bri’s approach. She didn’t need an overproduced, polished promo; she needed something that felt natural, honest, and true to her process.

We delivered a 90-second video that gives audiences a relaxed, behind-the-scenes look at Bri’s work, her inspiration, and the making of Object Permanence.

  • Casual Interview – Shot in front of one of her pieces, we kept the conversation light and organic, letting Bri’s personality shine through.

  • Studio Footage – Filming her in the process of assembling the exhibition, capturing the hands-on process.

The final video is as laid-back and genuine as Bri. Sometimes, the best way to tell a story is to simply let the artist talk, and that’s exactly what we did.

Workshops and Education

digital yarn believes in the importance of empowering and inspiring young people to become the next leaders in the digital space. More than just knowing our stuff, we’re passionate about making the industry accessible, exciting, and full of possibilities for young people.

As a team of young professionals ourselves, we remember what it was like sitting in high school classrooms, trying to connect the dots between schoolwork and what came next. We went through school with the internet at our fingertips, too - so we understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with growing up in today’s world.

Charlie has been given the chance in 2025 to bring that passion back to his former high school, Cornerstone College, where he shares his journey and industry insights with SACE students. Through real-world experiences and practical advice, he gives them a glimpse into their potential future career paths.
